Agile October - what's that?

October was a big month for Riverty – We had our official rebranding with celebrations in all locations. Rebranding celebrations also kicked off Riverty Tallinn Office wide live workshop series called Agile October, organized by our own Agile coaches, with the intent to increase team maturity level and delivery time, in a value packed and entertaining way.

Did I mention the workshop is LIVE in person?

No, but seriously.

As most of the work is done at home offices then it’s not easy getting people to attend a live workshop in person these days, and we were fully aware of the challenge! With workshops running almost every day in October (and into the first week of November), we trained 98 people total, face to face to maximize the effect. The word got around and multiple teams even flew in from other countries to be part of the initiative.

Fundamentals drive the change!

You can build fancy tactics only on solid foundation and that’s exactly what we aimed for. The material presented was condensed down into two main parts: one hour of absolute fundamentals custom tailored for Riverty, and in the second part, an hour of playing competitive Agile Games to put the most important points from the first part into practice in a fun, compelling and hands – on kind of way. Getting the games right, having a competitive element and a cool prize (custom design as well of course), really helped us succeed with driving the focus of the participants and emphasizing the main message of value delivery.

It’s just the beginning

The Agile October workshop series was just a stepping stone for more specific workshops to come. We at Riverty in Estonia believe that true change happens in collaboration and therefore the insights gathered from having people in the same room, sharing their own experiences and feedback is invaluable for us (compared to online meetings with the possibility of participants having their cameras turned off), to understand the company as a whole, the people working here and to polish our craft to be even more effective. So, huge thanks to all of the participants for showing up and to Riverty in Estonia, for supporting this grand and bold initiative!
